Following the governments roadmap out of lockdown announcement, self-catering holiday lets, including Airbnb, will be allowed to reopen for individuals or families on April 12 - meaning people are free to take a staycation again.

The 'Stay Local' guideline also ends, so longer day trips will no longer be restricted again and people can travel out of their local area in which the Government defines as being your village, town or the part of a city where you live.

Although we won't be able to go abroad just yet, fear not, as Airbnb have a range of impressive holiday rentals including huge fairytale castles to little shacks full of quirky, vintage features.

Don't forget the holiday insurance...even if only for a long weekend break.

Medical conditions are a fact of life. Everyone on the planet is affected by them - either directly or indirectly.

Unfortunately getting travel insurance once you declare a medical condition can be very frustrating. If you don’t declare your medical conditions, your cover won’t be valid. But the moment you do, most insurers dramatically inflate their premiums. For serious conditions, they might turn you away altogether.

Here is a very good UK one that has been providing specialist cover for travel-lovers with medical conditions since 1973.

Don't forget your pet's insurance.

We tend to consider our own insurance needs when going on holiday, but let us not forget our faithful furry friends. Perfect pet has insurance to suit your pet.
